Sharikura Nature Woods

800-year-old black pine trees watch and guard our town
  Under shading foliage of natural oak or chinquapin trees, you can enjoy serene atmosphere of the woods.
  It is selected as one of the top one hundred nature beauties in Fukuoka Prefecture. Among other things, 5 giant black pine trees of more than 800-year-old are officially enrolled as a Prefecture Nature Treasure.
  The nature woods surrounds a ruin of Shohoji Temple, which was reportedly established by a famous Buddhist monk "Gyoki".
