It is selected as one of the top one hundred nature beauties in Fukuoka Prefecture. Among other things, 5 giant black pine trees of more than 800-year-old are officially enrolled as a Prefecture Nature Treasure.
The nature woods surrounds a ruin of Shohoji Temple, which was reportedly established by a famous Buddhist monk "Gyoki".
